I was born on 08-08-1946 in a middle class family at Brahmapur, Odisha. I had notable academic career from Schooling (always being in the first ten of the class) to MBBS. Schooling was studded with academic excellence for talent in extempore elocution and essay writing in Telugu, Hindi and English. I had a stint in dramatics as well.

I waited for eleven long years to do post graduation in Chest Diseases after passing MBBS in 1969. I was one of the few candidates selected by UPSC for Central Health Services in 1973. Thus I served in Paramilitary Forces (Arunachal Pradesh, Mizohills, Assam and Punjab) and Coalmines (W. Bengal) before being transferred to JIPMER noting my excellent track record. Then, competing with new entrants, I stood first in the entrance examination for Pulmonology in Odisha. It is worth mentioning that my Professional studies were aided by government loan (MBBS & MD).

After Post graduation, I switched on to private sector for better prospects (Manipal & Bijapur). I had the honor of visiting university of Calgary as visiting Pulmonologist. There I had training in Sleep laboratory and reorientation in Intensive Care Unit. I had the privilege of teaching and addressing the faculty.
